More Than Medicine: My Journey to Integrative Health

Years ago, I thought I had so many tools. I was trained in emergency medicine, practiced in fast-paced hospitals, and understood how to manage crises. And I loved it. But when my own health began to unravel—I realized that conventional tools, while powerful and essential in acute illness or trauma, weren’t able to improve my chronic illness. I needed more than quick fixes and prescriptions. I needed to look deeper and figure out what was going wrong, so I could begin to fix it.

I began exploring and immersing myself in integrative medicine. I studied nutrition, circadian biology, the microbiome, genomics, inflammation, toxins, trauma, hormones, and more. I began blending the best of modern science with the wisdom of foundational health principles: sleep, movement, purpose, connection, stress mastery, and nourishment. And as my health improved over time, I have been able to apply these same philosophies with my patients, allowing them to also improve and optimize their health.

Integrative medicine isn’t alternative medicine. It’s inclusive medicine. It honors the full spectrum—from advanced diagnostics and cutting-edge therapies to mindfulness practices and food as medicine. It doesn’t reject one model in favor of another—it integrates them when they serve your body best. It builds upon the foundation to allow our own bodies to heal from the inside out and minimize pharmaceuticals when possible. And it never loses sight of you as a whole person.

That’s where Elevated Integrative Medicine comes in—to offer care that rises above the fragmented, rushed, and symptom-focused system we’ve all experienced. Here, we go deeper, listen longer, look wider. We elevate the standard of care—because that’s what you deserve.

So let me ask you:

What’s one thing you can do today to elevate your own health?

Can you step outside for a brisk walk in the sun?

Swap that processed snack for a handful of real, whole food?

Set a bedtime alarm and protect your sleep like the medicine it is?

Or maybe… just pause, breathe, and give your nervous system a little space to unwind?

Whatever it is, start there. Your next level of health doesn’t have to be complicated—but it does have to be intentional. And I’m here to walk with you.

Stay tuned—because we’re just getting started!
