"DON'T FOLLOW THE CROWD, LET THE CROWD FOLLOW YOU."
About Dr. Christina (Chris) Miller
Working as an emergency physician in a busy emergency department, I enjoyed the fast-paced shifts and being able to care for patients at times of crisis. But when I experienced inflammation myself with multiple joint pains, pain with breathing, and severe fatigue, I was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), placed on multiple immunosuppressive medications, and my life came to a screeching halt. I immediately became scared and depressed.
Despite the treatment plan, my symptoms worsened, and more medications were recommended. I realized I needed to make some major life changes. Healing required a complete shift and overhaul of diet, gut health, sleep, stress management, and daily movement. When I didn’t improve initially, I dug deeper into why my immune system was acting up. Advanced lab testing helped uncover root causes, and I took more steps toward healing based on my genetic and individual profile. It has been a journey up and down, to be
honest, but over time, my symptoms have resolved, medications were tapered, and energy, strength, and vitality have returned. I am thrilled to be a fully functional human again.
This journey also reshaped my medical career. Now, as a board-certified physician in Integrative and Functional Medicine, my focus is on helping others identify the underlying causes of illness and reclaim their health and well-being. By helping people prevent, improve, and optimize their health, I am working to keep people OUT of the ER. It is my great honor to share this journey of healing and health with others.
